Lulu

As many of you know, in May the Lulu crowd launched their new Spanish printer to begin Lulu's latest initiative in bringing the opportunities of independent publishing to every living creator on the planet. No one else in the world of print on demand publishing is pushing as hard as they are to facilitate distributed printing.

 

 

Consen

CONSEN Semestrial Newsletter (Aug06) Welcome to the Semestrial CONSEN newsletter. We hope you have had, or are having, a wonderful vacation.

 

 

Here in Barcelona, we have been working hard during the summer months to prepare for the second half of 2006. In the following, we will give you an idea about what we have been planning and what changes will occur in CONSEN and related projects.

 

Wekoms

First of all, we have been planning the launch of a new product called WEKOMS. This product incorporates all the experience CONSEN has on info-spaces and collaborative software into a complete on line solution The next Generation: web and work: Network 2.0 . The solution will be available in many languages. Official launch is September first, but you can check it out already now at Wekoms.

 

 

Videoblogging

There are some very interesting events in the Fall. In November, we will participate in the IST 2006 in Helsinki (Exhibit 587) which will focus on strategies, research activities and results in all areas of the Information Society. We have secured a network session there where we will present the potential of WEKOMS and video- blogging (vblogging). There will also be some interesting news on FP7. We are supporting the Dr.Linmi Tao proposal for the workshop Affective Computing for Ambient Assisted Living in the new FP7 S.O. ICT for eHalth

 

Drupal

In September we will go to Brussels Drupal Con. Drupal is the Community Management Framework software that powers WEKOMS and at SAP Lounge we have sponsored sessions to set up a task force for Drupal in business: Consulting, Marketing and Training.

 

Consen

In the tOSSad.org project, CONSEN has been conducting a study on the adoption of Open Source Software in public administration. People

Finally, some administrative and structural changes are coming along. Consen is becoming more focused around the people who does day to day work for it (less association more cooperation).We are going to hire an executive secretary and want more throughput.

 

  • We have put some effort into changing our on line presence to become more intuitive and the work online more efficient :

 

  • CONSEN.org – this is the main site to be referred to when presenting CONSEN to potential collaborators

 

  • CONSEN.info – the service for consen members and prospective members, an on line information (daily feeds from TED, IST, eLearning eGOV news) and work space Network 2.0

 

  • Consen Info is now the Control Site of all the Timesheets of the projects; the invoices, bank Accounts and actions of the projects.

 

  • Extra Consen is the space for editing and revising all the CONSEN newsletters and documentation, press releases etc.

 

  • Secretariat Consen is the administration restricted place to store and manage private and personal data. Thanks for your attention. Please check consen.info from time to time.
