Wikispaces Themes

Haven't heard from us for a while? That's because we've been rolling out our biggest update ever. In short, you can now customize every aspect of the way your wikispaces look and work. Want to put the action menu on the right instead of the left? Do it. Want to change

your fonts? Do it. Want to use crazy graphics and colors? Do it. To check out these new features go to "Manage Space", then "Look and Feel" you'll see all of our new options.

Themes

We have several pre-made themes that you can try which affect the look and feel of your entire space. If you have a Plus space, you can also make your own custom themes.

Colors

You can also adjust the colors that apply to any theme. This allows you to make sure the different parts of your space are readable and to add a little flair where you like.

Stylesheets

Your stylesheet is also customizable if you have a Plus space. The stylesheet controls the presentation of your page content, that is the part of your wikispace that you edit. You can now completely control how your content looks.

Submit your themes now

If you create a theme you think is useful, looks good, or just has crazy style, let us know about it and we'll consider making it one of our pre-made themes for the entire community. There might even be a reward in it for you...

Space of the Month

Adventurer's Guild. June's Space of the Month is one of our most active spaces and is oneof our many role playing gamer communities.

Our space

The Adventurer's Guild Wikispace is the main hub of an expansive, 47-player-strong role playing campaign. We use it to hold character sheets, logs of role-playing sessions, tons of setting information (which the playerbase and GMs alike are free to expand), and anything else that springs to mind.

Our community

Our community is actually an offspring of a larger commmunity that's been around for about a decade, ReturnerGames, Inc. is the community that develops the rules we use to play, as well as where most of our players and GMs come from. Adventurer's Guild proper was begun by Elemental Knight, with Amatsu, Doman, Elisha, Falar, Peter, and Quman forming the rest of the GM team. There are too many players to list here, but they and the characters they play are listed on our adventurersguild : Member Roster.

Our experience with Wikispaces

Wikispaces has allowed this game to do more than it could using any other website, mailing list, or forum. Easily editing pages makes updating character sheets a breeze, and the ease of making and linking pages lets the setting expand as it needs to. The Visual Editor lets less technically-inclined members work easily, which saves everyone hassle.

Anyone can edit

Since anyone can edit, the GMs don't have to do the scutwork of updating pages for the players. The Discussion pages let the players tell the GMs if they've missed anything, allows simpler in-game actions to be resolved without ever having to hop into chat or

resorting to e-mail tag, and makes organizing sessions almost laughably easy. Without Wikispaces, the GMs would have run themselves ragged months ago doing one-tenth the work they can do here. Without Wikispaces, our game simply would not be as fun as it is.

Wikitips

Changing your space colors

  • Go to your space
  • Click "Manage Space"
  • Click "Look and Feel"
  • In the Colors section you can click "Pick color" next to any of the options to get a nice color picker to use.
  • You can also revert to the defaults if you find you've picked colors you don't like.
  • Ami@Works Communities

Pre-Made Themes

Tired of how your wikispace looks? We think you'll like the "Bubble" theme, with smoother rounded corners and control over menu background colors. If simplicity's your game, try out "OneBox" where the left menu has been removed completely and put at the bottom of each page. Click on Manage Space, then "Look and Feel" then "Change or make a new theme" to switch to a new theme.

Themes for Private Label

Private Label users can apply one theme across all of their spaces or allow themes to be customized for each space individually. They can also allow stylesheets and colors to be customized in each space.

What do you think?

We've been doing a lot of work reaching out to schools, non-profits, and just regular people telling them about Wikispaces and how it can help them. Who else should we be speaking to? How can we serve you better? Do we suck or do we rock? Drop us an email at

[help@wikispaces.com Help] or leave a note on the front page discussion area.

Thanks,

Adam, Dom, and James
