Digital Storytelling

One reason I think digital storytelling is so compelling, is that as human beings, we have always connected to and learned from stories. At one point that was our only means for sharing our histories and experiences.

The purpose of large scale digital displays at service stations and shopping centres is not always to get the largest and widest readership possible. We want to communicate with interested individuals.

Webcasting

We have had television, movies and video for a long time, but we have not had the ability and mean ourselves as regular community members (and not specialists in video production) to create our own productions like we can today.

Creating a video clip - micromovie - of an oral history interview, of a family birthday, or any other event involves a multiplicity of aspects. As the videographer, you are both script writer and camera operator. You are the producer and the editor. You are the technical consultant and the content expert. You do it all.

Small Focus Groups

In business-to-business marketing the number of those individuals and decision makers we want to reach may be very few, but the impact of the chosen communication strategy and content we use can have economic impact far beyond its cost.

Blogging

A blog can cover trade shows, trips, and competitions that the owner attended, with coverage tuned to the local interests. One of the most important things with being at a conference is that you can get face-to-face response from the people present; you don't have to write them or ask somebody else what they meant.

Bloggers bring the discussions and the questions more into the light; it would be possible to create a better dynamic between the different modes. We can add video files, photographs, scanned documents, and Web pages as an increasingly sophisticated effort to conduct a global Internet-based publicity effort.

Training and management

Many people teach with blogs these days, and there are a number of approaches. One approach to teaching with blogs could be to organize the class blogging around a mini-blogosphere. Each student having an independent blog, for which the course might be one of many subjects blogged.

We would like to invite digital content artists to participate in our large screen online marketing action and project. We are conducting research on how businesses are using online marketing in general and searching new sales and marketing channels in particular.

BID

For the past 20 years, BID models have been applied to motivate activities designed to improve business conditions in business parks, commercial and retail districts. Examples of local BID programs organized:

  1. The City's largest outdoor festivals,
  2. Manage street banner programs,
  3. Provide newsletters,
  4. Websites and business directories,
  5. Generate special marketing campaigns,
  6. Manage public parking programs,
  7. Drive redevelopment activities,
  8. Organize security programs,
  9. Supervise public right-of-way maintenance,
  10. Manage public improvement and beautification projects,
  11. Recruit new business starts,
  12. And sponsor various neighbourhood activities such as farmers' markets and restaurant walks.

Connecting Objects

Advances in tag technology have dramatically improved read rate and range, while driving down the cost of RFID systems. Innovation can likewise help with privacy and security concerns, providing a range of options to balance consumer, business needs

Technology in concert with policy: RFID is just the first wave of new technologies connecting the physical and logical worlds. Many benefits to imagine, not just risks…
